When you create a TexTak account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not store passwords in plaintext. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth, which processes and stores credentials securely.
When you interact with content (upvoting, bookmarking), we store the association between your account and the content you engaged with. This data is used to persist your preferences and improve content recommendations.
Your email is used for account authentication and, if you opt in, for digest emails. Engagement data (votes and bookmarks) is used to personalize your experience and to surface the most valued content to all users. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
TexTak uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic Claude) to generate news summaries, editorial articles, and forecast analysis. All AI-generated content is clearly labeled. AI processes news stories from public sources — it does not access, analyze, or use your personal data for content generation. Your engagement data does not influence the AI's editorial output.
TexTak uses the following third-party services:
Database hosting, authentication, and data storage. Data is stored in the United States.
Website hosting and content delivery. Serves pages from edge locations globally.
AI content generation. News summaries and editorial content are generated via the Anthropic API. No user data is sent to Anthropic.
Typography. Google may collect anonymous usage data through font loading.
TexTak uses essential cookies for authentication session management. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. No cookie consent banner is required because we only use strictly necessary cookies.
Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. News stories and AI-generated content are retained indefinitely as part of the public editorial record.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You may export your engagement data (votes and bookmarks) at any time. To exercise these rights or ask questions about this policy, contact us at the email below.
TexTak is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, communicated via email to registered users.
